Human health

The French-Canadian innovation project Neurophenols aims to develop a range dietary compounds rich in synergistic polyphenols having a beneficial role in the attenuation of human cognitive decline.

Another possible application: pets

Senior pets (dogs, cats) are facing the same problems as humans. With age, they suffer from cognitive impairment, characterized by a tendency to sleep more or to act more slowly. Also, animals over 7 years of age represent a growing population. For example, senior dogs accounted for 30 to 40% of the world canine population in 2008, i.e. 35 to 45 million of dogs (Source: Euromonitor). Pets owners are more and more concerned about the well-being of their four-legged companions who need specifically formulated products.

The compounds developed in the Neurophenols project will therefore enter into the composition of pet food, aming to improve the remaining years of our pets. For this purpose, SPF-Diana group, producer of ingredients for pets, and the national veterinary school of Nantes, Oniris, are participating in the project.
