FAQ
- What is age-related cognitive decline?
Cognitive function corresponds to a set of mental processes such as perception, spatial visual analysis, memory, language, thought, attention, reasoning and movements’ coordination, orchestrated by the brain.
With age, some cognitive difficulties may appear. The “age-related cognitive decline” is not a pathological condition but rather a term for moderate but significant cognitive function impairement, linked to the normal aging of the brain; for example, we are more sensitive to background noises, attention is reduced, and memorization is more difficult.
However, several studies indicate that 10 to 15% of people with age-related cognitive decline develop a dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease. That’s why it is very important to slow down this cognitive decline process.
